On a beautiful, chilly day last fall, I decided to “play hookie.” As an adult nowadays, we call that taking a mental health day. It’s one of the perks of being a grownup. lol! So I jumped in my Jeep, drove a couple of hours to Fall Creek Falls state park, and was not disappointed. It was incredibly beautiful! My pictures do not do the park justice. It’s a gorgeous place.
On the flip side, I made quite a few people mad at me. Why, you wonder? Because I went alone. Yep, I drove well over 100 miles to spend hours wandering around the wilderness all by myself. I didn’t think twice about it because I am almost 50 years old and didn’t need a chaperone. I thought they got upset thinking I might fall and hurt myself. (To be honest, I am a bit of a klutz.) No, they were worried FOR ME. For my safety. Unfortunately, they are right.
In this world, women are not safe alone. We probably aren’t safe even in twos or threes. (I do have a story for another day.) Just listen to any true crime podcast or show. There will always be men out there that have bad intentions. That’s one of the reasons that I got a rottweiler. Don’t get me wrong, I love the breed, but I also love their reputation. They make people think twice.
Anyway, here are just a few of my pics from that day. 🙂
